Bass Adam Roberts has over 7 years professional experience in private instruction and performance. While attending the University of Mary, Adam operated a successful private music studio and performed with such groups as Mother Blues and the Mojo Band, Joe Friday, Nu-Voyce, Dennis Connelly Quartet, and the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra. After graduating with a degree in instrumental music education, Adam has been active in the Midwest as a performer, composer, arranger, studio musician, and educator. In the Chicago area, He has performed with Joe Rockhead and jazz guitarist Hunter Prendergast. He also worked as a studio musician at The Barn in Long Grove, IL, and taught music lessons at About Music in Libertyville, IL. After moving back to Bismarck, Adam has performed with local groups such as Less Than X and the Justin Binek Trio as well as regional groups like the Great Plains Jazz Society. He was a featured soloist at the 2003 University of Mary Jazz Festival. Adam teaches beginner guitar for ages 9 and up, all styles of beginning, intermediate, and advanced bass guitar for ages 9 and up, and music theory/instrumental improvisation. Guitar Michael Johnson began playing guitar over 20 years ago, and has played with such area bands as Junk & HigherGround. In addition to playing with area bands, Mike has played all across the Midwest opening for such acts as Bullet Boys, Warrant, Slaughter, Foghat, and Firehouse. During this time Mike has recorded three CD’S and is currently in the studio working on another project. Having spent the last 16 years teaching Mike has the experience and expertise to instruct both the beginner and the advanced student. A graduate from Bismarck State College Mike specializes in rock guitar styles, improvisation, ear training, and song writing. Students can also gain instruction in advanced theory, composition, country, jazz, and spiritual styles of play. Nick Ehrhardt has been playing guitar for 12 years, ever since he was 12 years old. Having taken guitar lessons for 5 years from local instructor and session musician, Bill Pope, Nick has studied music theory, ear training, improvisation, and is fluid in many flat-picking and finger picking techniques. He has been influenced by artists such as Chet Atkins, Tommy Emmanuel, Dave Brubeck, and Jimmy Bruno, with musical genres ranging from rock to classical to jazz. Nick welcomes students ages 9 and up from any influence and has a very flexible approach to teaching that revolves around the individual student. Nick has toured the midwest with Ben Suchy and also played lead guitar with Buffalo Alice for two and a half years. Nick is currently playing with one of North Dakota's top country bands, Rocky Top.. Kristin Kitko has taught individual and group music lessons for 20 years. She specializes in guitar instruction, although she also offers instruction in voice, music theory, ear training, drums, and songwriting. Kristin holds a degree in education and has taught folks from 5-85 years old. Also a performing singer/songwriter & comedian, Kristin has played her original folk music and children’s music nationally. She recently performed at Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music and has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, the Bismarck Tribune, Windy City Times, and Chicago Free Press. Her two CDs (kitko and Who Let the Fly In?) are played on radio stations across the country. When she performs for children, Kristin goes by "kittyko" (www.kittyko.com). For the grown-ups, she’s known as "Kitko" (www.kitko.org). Kristin has come back to North Dakota to teach music and to have a beautiful "home base" to come back to after occasional tours.
